Re: '72E Sporto

With a sepia brown 72 sporto advertised for £100k at Avantgarde cars that's a massive price disparity

Which is the correct wonga then?!

Both 72, sporto and "interesting" colours

Re: '72E Sporto

Looks excellent value to me, noting that 2.4s are now at £200k based in the 2 at Paul Stephens

Obviously an E isn't an S, a sporto is not everyone's cup of tea but still!

Re: Back in beige

Have always liked Aga blue

But as you are going 100pc hotrod rather than original I wonder have you considered a frosted finish like the latest "frozen silver" m5?

Re: They left the early 911 behind

looked like the car doors were unlocked?

that yellow 911 I think is a US import with 3 litre engine and carrera rs decals. as said been for sale forever

presumably they had a van round the corner and its about 2 mins drive to the A3 so within a short period the car could be anywhere

shame.

Re: 1969 911E restoration costs

Oh Yes. An average rusty shell will require 400 hours of metalwork. £40 per hour. Add some panels and you are over 20k without a drop of paint in sight. :( £40ph is at the low end and is prob ex vat panels as Dave says and depends obviously how many and whether Porsche, Dansk or elsewhere paint wil...
