They left the early 911 behind

Post by cobb911 »

There have been many instances of early 911s being taken by thieves but in this case they chose to leave the early 911 and targeted the Escort Mexico.

It looks like a dealer so probably insured but that is not the point.

It is trackspeed, the theft is all over the Ford forums as well.

The mexico has all the right bits not all from a mexico but it was/is a serious bit of kit with a TVR V8 engine and a prefab motorsport shell...

There is video as well, in and out in under 4 minutes

Unfortunately there are a lot more v5s about for mk1 escorts than there are for early 911s.
Having said that though, £120k? For a Ford Escort? Seriously? I thought RS2000s were probably worth £35k, or have they shot up? Or has Lord Brocket been at work again....
It doesn't matter if you speak your mind, because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.......!
Lusting after a 30/98, will settle for a 23/60.

£120k for a non standard Mexico? blimey.
They clonk the 911 on the way out they are in such a hurry, think I would be more careful with a £120 Mexico!

The owner, Mark, spent 10 years building that car. He must be heartbroken.

Sadly the scumbags that took it will have targeted the car for a reason. I imagine its already in pieces.

looked like the car doors were unlocked?

that yellow 911 I think is a US import with 3 litre engine and carrera rs decals. as said been for sale forever

presumably they had a van round the corner and its about 2 mins drive to the A3 so within a short period the car could be anywhere

shame.
