Re: MFI set up

I'd go to BS he has a proper rig for setup and test. Best by phone rather than email.

Re: Wheels Day 2016 (Surrey Street Rodders) - event pics

Thanks for the pics Paul. There's danger here. I occasionally spend far too long looking at mustangs and Bill shepherds site but every time I see hot rods like these I find myself liking them a great deal!

Re: 996; Targa?

Doubt it. Albeit nice cars, the targa was always a curio and sold as such. Roof mechanisms can prove troublesome. The cars that are appreciating are the drivers cars which in 996 land seems to mean GT3 and C4 S

Re: Slightly Off Topic - Insurance Renewal Advice

I think these threads always have merit, given choice and experiences, though hopefully none of us will have need to claim which is often when you really find out. Fwiw I remain with Hagerty. Although the premium has increased (as has tax of course) I find them sensible and pragmatic to deal with an...

Re: Brake Recommendations

Mike you might find the pads and discs are glazed. if there is somewhere quiet you can do a few high speed stops, thjs might improve matters as the heat and friction deglazes them. It's a little like bedding in new discs and pads- have a google or look on the pagid site. Might be worth a try before ...

yes I thought glueing the front bonnets seal was a particular bargain, but the mantra "time is money" applies to both theirs and mine.

Re: 1970 UK RHD 911 2.2S - Diary

Blimey, it’s been a while. I apologise, as I enjoy everyone else's threads very much. Firstly, a confessional. The odometer showed just 750 miles following the engine rebuild. Shame on me. Although I am a lucky boy and have put a pretty decent cumulative mileage on fun cars in 2016, including the Mc...

Re: 72 Hotrod - my new project

Dan may be along soon, but in the meantime, the car was sold 9-12 mths ago. Life's a bit like that sometimes. It went back to Tuthills and I am not sure where afterwards or whether it morphed into another guise.

Re: request from PCGB forum for a sound clip of a 2.2S for

I don't have a viable recording. 2 suggestions 1) ring autofarm who I still think have the red one for sale and see if they'll do a favour. 2) if geographically viable, get over to Bicester heritage where mine is in storage. They run it up to temp every now and then and could get it out. Clearly if ...

Re: Jonny's 914EV Rebuild

Terrific. Instead of j1772 you might want to consider mennekes / type 2. A lot of public charge points still only offer UK 3 pin or type 2 (certainly the case for most source london ones) though the ecotricity points at mway services have all manner of connectors. Care though, those pump out juice a...

As a muppet I can't offer any technical advice, but, I would like to say THREAD OF THE YEAR for me Jamie. The trials, tribulations, and, triumphs have made for compelling viewing! I hope this is all sorted out readily and you'll be behind the wheel with a huge smile soon. All the best then, for a ha...

Re: Are they going down in price?

The answer is yes. But these cars are very seasonal around the trackday calendar, albeit last year saw the number advertised for sale go up to 25 cars at any one time, from single digits or sales occurring before advertisement in the prior years. The high 70's was about the price peak last year, and...
