request from PCGB forum for a sound clip of a 2.2S for

Post by hot66 »

as posted on PCGB forum :

Hi All - odd request time! I am desperately looking for a good quality recording of the engine sound from a 2.2l 911S from the 1970s to play at my father's funeral next week, can anyone help please? We are hoping to get the exact model of car as he rebuilt the one below 'back in the day' and it was very special to him (and yes that's me sat on the bonnet!).

If anyone can help at all it would be really appreciated please, his funeral in on Monday 25th and we need to get the 'music' recorded and sent to the funeral director this week / ASAP. Otherwise our options are dodgy youtube recordings or me sitting outside the crematorium revving my clapped-out Boxster! :|

Thanks in advance :)

james perhaps share this (i'm no longer on pcgb) this looks like a reasonable audio recording:

then use something like http://www.listentoyoutube.com/ to convert to MP3.

hope the guy sorts it anyway :)

Any info on the original car? Especially if it is RHD, as there were very few. Can you re-post the photo - it doesn't show on my browser.
Obviously there are a few on the forum, but what is the best way of getting a reasonable quality recording?

I don't have a viable recording. 2 suggestions
1) ring autofarm who I still think have the red one for sale and see if they'll do a favour.
2) if geographically viable, get over to Bicester heritage where mine is in storage. They run it up to temp every now and then and could get it out. Clearly if need to make sure they could accommodate this at no cost to me.

I don't know if this is of help, but here's a link to my rolling road test of my 2.2s targa.

Hope it can help.
