Re: My annual 'salt down' post!
Yep, salt down today in Dundee. SORNed the Turbo on the 31st October and taxed the Cayenne this morning  SORNed the SC on 29th October and DVLA still took the monthly payment on the 1st Nov, dirty B's! Problem is how the DD system works. The list of direct debits to collect will have been s...

Re: Shrek
The front air dam/spoiler is made of fibreglass. I was pretty disappointed with this - Page B 1 of the manual – ‘The body is all-steel construction’ One other item on a 72 that is not steel is the oil filler flap which is aluminium. Not quite sure why they choose to make it aluminium when the simil...

I thought these were all based on 944s or maybe I am confusing two similar models.

Re: Taking out extended warrantee?
I got a warranty on my 996 C4S when I purchased it as it was included in the price. Wish I had negotiated a bigger discount instead. When I tried to claim for the water pump, which according to the warrantee was covered, they refused to pay due to the cars age and mileage, which was not appreciably ...

Re: *** Porsche In The Glen Sunday 28th August 2016 ***
Hi Dougie, as I understand it, it is just turn up on the day. A couple of years ago since I had a car there and at that time Brian was taking names before hand. I assume that through experience they have worked out it is just not worth the hassle as not everyone who says they are coming will come an...

Re: Council tax bands
Guesswork on what the property would have been worth at the time in that area. As smallspeed noted obviously open to error.gridgway wrote:In that case, how do they put new houses in council tax bands?

Re: Council tax bands
No, as I understand it the band is based on the value of the house back when bands were set and not what it is worth now.

Re: A pillar wiring loom up to interior lights
Right hand side from near bonnet hinge; if you can't see where it will go I suggest trying from inside the car to fit a guide wire as easier to see where the hole is where the pillar meets the roof.

Re: OT: Any tips for cheap laid up insurance cover?
Had my project 911 with Manning. Premium goes up as sum insured goes up but I reckon for what I was paying a 996Turbo would be well less than £300.

Advice - use the search function as this has been discussed many times on DDK. You should find the desired information.
