My annual 'salt down' post!

Post by gridgway »

Well, it's here, saw the salt lorry out last night and had a frosty windscreen this morning!

Get those cars back in the garage and get the winter jobs started quick

Frosty had been out last night, but no grit spreading down our end.(Yet) It'd been that dry lately though there's no need yet.

Definitely salty in mansfield last night! Doesn't seem any point in SORNing the 914 as it's free! And the insurance is on a mileage basis, so all good there.

Problem is how the DD system works. The list of direct debits to collect will have been sent on the Friday to be circulated to the relevant bank. Your bank does not get the request direct from the DVLA so with the lead time means there is that chance you cancel the need for the DD after they sent the request but before they deduct the money.

First white frost last night in Cork, Ireland last night that the cars needed window defrosting for the first time. It was 2C here as well. Suprised that parts of the UK are the same as we here usually get it milder and later than you. GT3RS Sorn'd and ZT 911 still in 9M for engine rebuild.
