Fuel Tank coating

Re: Generator recondition

OK, for those interested in this thread, I have resolved my charging problem. Despite fitting a new regulator and re-manufactured dynamo I still had no charge so I took both dynamos and regulators I had in my possession to J Morgan in Dorking to check over for me. ( Thanks Mick ) Both dynamos were b...

Re: FS. NOS Blaupunkt Bahamas SQR Radio stereo cassete recei

Not sure this was a very common model. I sold Blaupunkt in the 80's and do not recognise the name, recognise the auto reverse and five push button pre set and am sure it was called something else in the UK. Oh and 800 euros seems steep

Re: Electrical mysteries

I was wondering also if the brushes take time to wear in on a new dynamo, if from manufacture they sit square.......

Re: Generator recondition

Well moving swiftly along my experience now includes swopping the Dynamo with the knackered brushes for a re manufactured unit as well as an uprated voltage regulator. Now the generator light goes out but only around 2000 revs..... Does that sound like fan belt tension? The other issue is my handbra...

Changing brushes on bosch generator

My 69 912 has an incorrect Bosch generator installed 0101 302 111 which appears to be for a VW. The red light is staying on so I checked the brushes and the one that is on the top was not fitting properly and appears the incorrect size but is easily accessible, however the bottom looks far more diff...

Re: Dizzy restoration

Hi Neil The car came with that dizzy and Solex carbs with the vacuum connected. I've had the carbs restored and put it into a well known 912 specialist for a tune up I'm told that the shaft is worn on the dizzy as when another is fitted the car runs fine so another distributor is suggested However I...
