Generator recondition

Looking for a company in the South, Surrey, Sussex to overhaul a Bosch generator....any ideas

Rob at Broadway Electrics in Graves Essex. I've had two done and he does them for Max, PRS, Roger Bray etc.

Well moving swiftly along my experience now includes swopping the Dynamo with the knackered brushes for a re manufactured unit as well as an uprated voltage regulator. Now the generator light goes out but only around 2000 revs..... Does that sound like fan belt tension? The other issue is my handbrake light goes on and off intermittently....bad earth.....bad switch? Where is the handbrake light switch mounted?
I will now need to check the charging rate

OK, for those interested in this thread, I have resolved my charging problem. Despite fitting a new regulator and re-manufactured dynamo I still had no charge so I took both dynamos and regulators I had in my possession to J Morgan in Dorking to check over for me. ( Thanks Mick ) Both dynamos were buggered, even the re-manufactured, which according to Morgans had "thrown the solder" indicating it had been running too hot. Maybe it was the regulator....no they were both fine
In the meantime I had been looking at wiring diagrams, google images etc etc and realised the brown and the black wires going to the generator were transposed. BINGO, there was my problem, bought another re-manufactured dynamo, fitted the wires correctly and hey presto....wonderful charging
I must say it was satisfying, if somewhat expensive, solving this myself. One disappointment was that a marque specialist, despite having the car a number of weeks for a tune and general going over did not see those transposed wires and upon returning the car remarked, "Oh, by the way your red light is staying on, just change the dynamo and regulator that will solve the problem" !! Experts huh ?
Oh, by the way, Morgans were very helpful

school of hard knocks, no better place to be. What youve spent in cash, you've gained in experience, and that will serve you well for the next time (i.e next project porsche). Well done, always satisfying to get it fixed yourself! =)
