Re: Running issues

Just get rid of the carburettors and convert to fuel injection.

Last time my 914-6 didn't run very well is was down to what Spyder-finder has just mentioned a needle valve was causing a problem and affecting the float level.

Re: Pads and MC

Dunno, feels hard to me. You'd need some hydraulic pressure and two gauges or some other way of measuring the difference in pressure. Or some much smarter way. Call for Kevin I reckon! Graham, you should take my daily 75 914 2.0 out for a spin, its the same model year and engine size as your 914 wi...

Re: My '73 914

Welcome to the world of 914 ownership Adrian. That is a nice looking 914 you have. Saturn is the English or USA name , where as Delphi is the German name. Best colour in my very biased opinion :) The original paint code sticker stuck to the drivers door post will say Saturn Gelb or two coat Saturn y...

Re: Socket of shift rod at the gear (sic!)

Just in case any one of thinking of ordering the bush from the US I ordered one last Sunday and it arrived yesterday - approx £22 landed here Great services, but is it really needed? The bush in question is only used on the side shift gearbox linkage. The problem with the original OM nylon bush is ...

Re: Socket of shift rod at the gear (sic!)

Hi Kev, just out of interest! Is there an advantage for one or the other ? In your opinion. I guess the early had the advantage of a straight bar, but the side shift had a shorter bar?? Regards Mark. First thing you have to know is the original 914-6 straight linkage went to a rear shift gearbox wi...

Re: Socket of shift rod at the gear (sic!)

My guess is that the 4 version has to be bent to pass through the engine mount bar. I'm not too familiar with the 6 but think they do the have such a bar so it down need to be straight? There were three different linkages for the production 914. The 914-6 linkage is straight. Now there were two ver...

Although I have no idea where this bit goes !??? I thought maybe behind the seats? But I have the mats for there. And by the time it goes up and over the tunnel hump it's too short??? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161210/2ed257d544cdfa48c1465838905d7625.jpg Any thoughts?? Didn't you say "I...

Re: Rebuild update

has anyone had any issues with the dimmer relay? I take it you mean the High / Low Beam relay. Do you have four wires and the old relay had four terminals while the new relay has five terminals? If this is the case, a bridging wire needs to be attached across pin 56 & 30 to make it work.

Re: 914/6 - Texas GT

What is the plan for the body Body wise: GT arches on (steel). GT GRP bumpers front and rear. Front mounted oil cooler will go in, so front slam panel cut for airflow and louvred panel in front trunk flow. We are retaining the steel rocker covers and fabricating flared steel ends for them, for a su...

Re: Rebuild update

Thanks Kev I dont recall seeing a bracket when I took the old one out it would be useful to see what it should look like. http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab30/914KEV/IMG_4369_zpsge7bjddc.jpg The photo is of the original fuel injection fuel pump. If you are going to be still running on carbs, the...

Re: Rebuild update

any thoughts on fuel pump location on my 76? It should be in the front under the fuel tank tucked away in a removable cover you can access from the front boot. I cant seem to find any reference to the bracket or the cover in the PET or any pics on the internet. The only thing I can think of is dril...

Re: Why is this earth on the hornpush?

There is an earth on the hornpush I have. It is on the ramp(!!!) and I cannot believe it is original - doesn't even look like it. But my question remains. Why should there be an earth there at all? Testing purposes? Surely not needed. Or am I being dim  Ian  Yes it should be there. It is...
