Re: Just wondering
Hi Margaret It is difficult to understand how the torsion bar could get kinked. It is held inside the tube of the A frame of the front suspension on the car. If it got bent while in place the A frame must be bent too. If it was bent at some point when it was taken out it would surely be difficult to...

Re: Back in beige
Today I decided I would fit my re-chromed door handles. On investigation of the lock cylinders, I discovered that they matched the ignition key! Hurrah! Although I had driven the car in the US, I couldn't remember why the car came with two keys and assumed it due to mismatched ignition and door loc...

Maybe 'a strong parts car' is an Americanism for 'it will need a lot of parts' as there is not much that looks worth saving.

Plastic Heater Tube End
It looks like I managed to melt this while removing the heater tube from the sill. http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af9/graemecobb911/HeaterTubeEnd_zpsgi1rkmhn.jpg Would anyone have a spare from a heater tube that has been replaced? I am assuming they are all the same diameter from year to year al...

Re: 1972 RHD 911T Coupe
Definitely a couple of suspect previous repairs. I plan to get the body work done professionally. Although I am prepared to turn my hand to most things reading the importance of getting it all aligned properly I think I will pass it to someone with a jig. There is still plenty to keep me busy refurb...

Re: 1972 RHD 911T Coupe
It took 3 weeks rather than 2 so all the rust was removed but better that than coming back half done. This is after the first stage of the process which effectively burns the paint. That has to be the worst look. http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af9/graemecobb911/IMG_0563_zpsk5lh5y9p.jpg And after...
