Re: My engine strip down/rebuild
Brendan,
I notice you , like me only have the drivers mirror. You'll find we do really need the other one. I've not mad the decision yet to fit the second mirror but I find I'm narrowly avoiding contact due to not having one. I know the other mirror is placed in a different position to the driver one but I'm wondering re the mirror glass. The drivers mirror on our LHD cars would be for someone driving on the right hand side of the road, and the other mirror would possiblly have a different glass ( concave/convex ) from what we need. You know that old one sometimes seen on American cars " objects in the mirror may seem etc "
My question is there a different mirror glass needed to use an LHD Drivers mirror in a country that drives on the left like Ireland and UK, and the same would apply to the other mirror if fitted ?
Maybe a mod could move this question to a new thread ?
Dave

Well done Brendan, good to see it back on the road!
Re: My engine strip down/rebuild
Interesting question Dave I'm sure someone like Andy will have the answer. To be honest I've never missed the other mirror as I feel you have should a great view over your left shoulder. Certainly no blind spot on a LHD 911!

Re: My engine strip down/rebuild
I've never had a passenger side mirror on any 911 (or 912) I've owned - nor felt the need for one either ...

Re: My engine strip down/rebuild
Nice one Brendan, you must have been busy today!
Burgundy is such a fantastic early 911 colour and she is bone stock which is lovely. Right decision to keep the engine standard. Can't wait to see her on the road for a drive to Loch Etive. Ddk last run before the winter salt?
One of my favourtite Ddk cars.
Regards
Mike

Nice one Brendan, will be good to see the car up and about again as its been a while
Never needed a passenger mirror either ... Can't see the point on a lhd car when a quick glance over the shoulder gives such a good view of what's going on. Also think it ruins the look of the early cars to have 2 mirrors
