I have a few old photos of that car racing!
Featured in lots of old PCGB magazines.

Re: 356 prices at Bonhams Olympia
RHD Super 90 is a rare thing (if it still has it's engine).
Not worth the combined purchase price and restoration cost though.
Sounds quite expensive for a B normal too, although it will be a nice thing to drive.

Re: whats your daily driver
Got to love a GTI! I'm running about in this at the moment, apart from a noisy wheel bearing its an absolute delight to drive. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1870/43644263025_5dd21b8a49_b.jpg Love that, makes me want to find my black, 3 door, big bumper 16 valve I used as a daily driver for 10 year...

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
No idea about the Seiko, however if a seller says "it's one of a kind" that is something I would really doubt. Bit of a crap question really which probably depends on your monetary status. But if you had a Stainless Rolex Daytona 116500LN would you wear it for everyday or save it for those...

Re: Dreaming of a Swap Meet
Am always up for a swap meet, although they are always a long drive away! Wouldn't it be worth looking at asking the organisers of the Hedingham Castle meet if they would expand to accommodate this? What Hedingham Castle meet? Unlikely to be any more Classics at the Castle, I'm afraid. Oh, I hadn't...

Re: Dreaming of a Swap Meet
I like this idea, and would be keen, and all my spare Porsche stuff will fit in the 356. Warwickshire sounds great, but we seem to be ignoring the requests from the North, How about moving up country a bit? Combine with a bit of track action, Curborough? Also perhaps there are some forecourts in Kn...

Re: Anyone know Bovey & Son back in 1965
Yes, the car in question did come through AFN, they all did, but some of the cars were supplied to dealers, one car went to Parker and Parker in Kendal etc.. Absolutely. However, unlike a dealer like Parker and Parker etc I can find no evidence of Bovey and Son buying any cars. Which is why I think...

Not sure there is such a thread Ian.
Still searching for 356 engine numbers: 21589 and 605571.
I know the second engine is out there somewhere....

Re: Anyone know Bovey & Son back in 1965
Bovey and Son do not come up as a 356 dealer on any of my lists.
All UK cars came through AFN in this period, is it possible that the company is buying the car from them?

Re: Stone chip on pre A bonnet
Is it through to the metal?
If so something should be done, personally I would just touch it up myself as I would suspect the whole bonnet will need repainting.
May as well wait until there's a few more chips on there as they are inevitable if you plan on driving it (which you should)!
