Re: 71 2.2S
I went to see that 2.4T, the most rust free original car I have seen in a while. Agreed it didn't look much in the photos, but 30 years in temperature controlled storage and low miles before that makes a very easy resto. Not many 2.4T mfi's made, original colour combo ivory white/black, can see why ...

At the £15K estimate, i'd rather have the original, rust free 2.4T mfi...

Re: 2.4S Bodyshell with V5
Is this an original RHD? Has the front panel been cut to accommodate a bigger fuel tank? Looks perilously close to the chassis number?

Re: 911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
It seems incredible that in a few short posts the authenticity of this engine has been thrown into doubt. With all the records that are kept on these rare, very expensive cars, surely it must be fairly straight forward to verify this engine is genuinely what we all presumed it to be ? For a starter...

Re: 911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
That's confusing. Do you think at 90k it was cheap, expensive or just right? I think it was the right money and a good fun car. If the 663 engine number was original then I think it would have sold for a lot more. I don't know what an original 663 engine is worth, only what I know someone said they...

Re: 911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
Basically the car sold for the correct price for what it was, it looks like a cracking car and will be a bunch of fun. Given the description that Coys used, I think the question was, why was the car so cheap? My friend who went to buy the car would have paid a lot more than the sale price had he bee...

Looks different to the genuine numbers I have seen, in particular the spacing and the 0. http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o410/manipou/Engine%20Numbers/5.jpg http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o410/manipou/Engine%20Numbers/3.jpg http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o410/manipou/Engine%20Numbers/4_1....

Re: 911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
Back to the point, don't shoot me down in flames… but I have just spoken to someone who went to this sale to buy this car, but wasn’t happy with the engine number stamping, so he didn’t have a bid. He’s owned 2 original 73 rs’s as well as many other Porsches and knows his stuff. Just what he told me...

Re: 911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
Auctions have always been hit and miss, if two people want your car then you'll sell well, if no one likes your car then it won’t sell. I sold an Aston Martin at the Silverstone Salon Prive sale on Friday and it sold above top estimate. The problem with estimates is that they are based on what the s...

Re: 911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
Never hear anything good about Coys, they refuse to get a decent website, refuse to have online bidding and no one ever seems to trust anything they do...
Takes ages for them to put prices up too!

911 2.7rs Rep at Coys
Hi, I've looked to see if there is a thread about this car but can't find one, apologies if there is already one on here. Does anyone have any info on the engine of this car? Looks like a DDK car from the badge on one of the photos... http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemID=6518&auctionID=57 Th...

Hats off to you Jamie, catching up on these resto threads has been fun, yours is the most impressive by far, I wish I had your patience!
Shame you don't live next door anymore, I'm sure Richard wont mind you using the booth. If you can get it over maybe you can arrange a time he isn't using it?
