Also I know that my 'Y' is on the wrong way around  it's been like it since Barry kindly pointed it out to me last August at Brands, I just keep forgetting to switch it around

Whats happened to the other pipe??

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Tom, the answer is in the picture....The one on ebay is part no. 914 572 011 10 which is for model years 73-76, the one for the earlier cars, 70-72 with the two outlets is 473 261 193 (VW part No. from the 411) Hope that helps.

this topic has shed lots of light on my setup - ive got the later blower with one outlet but the Y is missing so that will probably explain why im getting fumes in from the exposed LH heat exchanger (all my hoses underneath are tightly fitted and clamped and heat exchangers in good nick).

Gilbert - looks like your Y piece is non-std? I may try and fix something up rather than hunt down an original Y piece. Least then i should be able to stop the fumes and have an even better heater - just in time for summer
