the main difference being our police force have ( to date) opted to try & educate the worst speed offenders , the bikers, and work with them helping them become safer riders. We have no fixed speed cameras only mobile units which I have only ever seen being used in places where they should be , eg 30 zones in Dales villages, outside schools etc

I've got no problems with speed cameras in sensible places at all. This one was by a temporary 30 zone by some roadworks. It was in the middle of nowhere with not the slightest hint of residential around - ie no houses or pavements. The roadworks were as good as packed up, and the road would have bee standard 60mph otherwise. I do think we've been a bit hard done by, but I do like the picture!

No speed cameras here!! In fact the local police only have one speed gun and you can usually see them a mile off. That still didn't help the 12 muppets that were caught speeding here yesterday!
