My 1966 912

Post by Del »

After owning the car for a good few weeks now, i finally feel that it is actually "my car", and not one that i have borrowed from Keith Seume. I can honestly say that for the first few weeks i felt like it was still Keiths car and didnt want to do anything to it.

Well, last Saturday my sister got married at a place called Staunton Harold Hall and after the wedding the photographer asked if i would park the car in front of the house for him to take some pictures of it. Nice compliment!

I got the pictures from him today and thought i'd share them on here cos they really have come out a treat. (He has done some jiggery pokery to the blue colour)

These are just a few that i took on my own simple camera and are without any added effects...

Looking good! Glad you still like it! :)

Oh, and as for an original RS2000, that's fine by me. Pack it up and send it on down!

The one you see in the picture there belongs to my uncle Jay. Was also his boyhood dream car and he's had it for more years than i can remember. It was the first car i ever drove and its a minter with the original dealer sticker on the rear window and original bill of sale. And what a sound it makes! Im chuckling at the irony of us discussing the RS on a Porsche thread. Jay when you read this... your RS has hijacked my Porsche thread!

I've always fancied a MK1 mexico or RS2000 8) When I used to work on a mates farm when I was 15, his older brother had a MK1 escort for his 1st car which was 'rallied' up :) Constant wheel spinning etc made quite an impression on me , shame he stuck it through a nice fence only weeks later writing it off :(

Thanks Boz. Still cant get enough of it!

Havent really done anything to it although i have bought a set of pressed aluminium plates for it which need fitting one of these days. I dont trust sticky pads and dont have the heart to drill into the rear panel as there are no holes there so far.

Took these the other day just to see how the new camera handles it...

sticky pads are fine.. you just try and pull it off your finger when it gets stuck to it!!

pop to halfords you have no worries It took me about 10 mins to get my rear plate OFF on sunday to put the new one on..

and used sticky pads again

I am taking it you have a rear plate to mount the number plates on with?

if not make one and bolt to the orginal holes first and then sticky pad
