911T VDO oil sender

I understand that the non functioning VDO oil pressure sender on my 1969 911T is used in several vehicles. My questions are :

1. Can I use one from another vehicle and, if so which ones ?

2. Can the sender be serviced ?

3. What does the electrical connector do ?

Re: 69 2.0L engine very slow turning over.

Thank you all, I have checked and cleaned all the leads and will be trying a second battery . engine oil is much lighter at present ( 5/30) as the previous was gloopy and unknown. Did not measure the new compression before re-assembly. There did not appear to be any unusual gaskets or shims when tak...

Re: 69 2.0L engine very slow turning over.

Thanks Rob, I have not checked the compression since the work was completed but it turns over well without the plugs in and I am sure that there is nothing "touching ". Seems to be sucking and blowing correctly.

Beginning to suspect the starter !!

Re: 69 2.0L engine very slow turning over.

Thanks to you all, I have not tried turning it over without the plugs in ... I will do it and report back soon. Turning it over on the crank by hand is still quite stiff but I put that down to the new rings etc ? I have cleaned the earth from the gearbox to the chassis and the main battery one. than...

69 2.0L engine very slow turning over.

2.0L 911T engine recently honed bores, new rings , rebuilt Weber 40 carbs now really reluctant to turn over at any speed. New battery fitted so have checked the timing...seems ok, lots of fuel in the carbs, new plugs, points, leads. Tried another battery from a new Audi...same problem, really sluggi...

Re: Indicator relay position.

Thank you Gitesh, your approach might make it easier for access so I will try that first and thank you for your observations about the 4 lug relay.

Indicator relay position.

I am having an issue correctly locating the indicator relay as a google search is a bit vague . Does its replacement have to be a specific 4 post relay or a 3 post ?

Lower door panel for 69 T needed please.

I seem to have mislaid the right hand lower door panel for my 69T. The photo below shows the left one so hoping that someone might have a right one for sale or the black basket weave to allow me to make a new one.? Happy with the remains of an old door panel vinyl if it allows me to make a replaceme...

Fuel lid spring replacing !!

tried the Pelican forum suggestion of a tie wrap through the central hole but it appears that you still cannot tension the spring. Suggestion also to compress the spring until the 2 arms are nearly touching then tie with wire...problem is you cannot get snips inside to release wire...any suggestions...
