Honestly don't know what to ask, They seem to be going for $1000+ second hand on Pelican and $3000+ new, but have no guidance for reasonable price in England, hence asking for advice. Wasn't trying to make it an auction.. Also, would do a straight swap for a working 2.2s pump if anyone is int...

I know...we used to holiday there a lot when we were kids and our parents always told us horror stories about people getting stuck in the sand and then getting sucked down....just before the tidal bore comes up the channel....

Amazing I'm so well balanced really.

It's off to the Lakes for the weekend

Thanks for all the advice. Having done alots of research and talked to many of the recommendations, I've decided to take it to Mike Bainbridge. He sounds great and has a very re-assuring presence. So we're off to the Lake District for the weekend. I'm looking forward to the Fish & Chips on the b...

Am speaking to him this afternoon. Thanks for the advice.

I'm in Cambs, near Kimbolton, but don't mind taking it on a trailer to the right place. To Ian's point, I think on balance of probability it is a matching numbers engine (although not had it officially verified, the engine number is in the right range for the VIN) and really want to keep it in tact....

No...I don't have the skills, patience, experience or time away from wife and 2 lovely little ones....I think we can safely say this is a job for the professionals. :-)

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Who would you recommend to re-build a 2.2s engine?

Hi, It looks like my long cherished 2.2s engine needs a new lease of life. I've been advised that I need a complete re-build (top & bottom end) that deep down I know is probably right (oil leaks getting more drippy, feels less sprightly than before - you know...old). Anyway, I have had a couple ...

Where's the red-line for a 2.2S?

Hi, This is my first post and I wonder if someone could help me understand where the red line on the tacho should be for a 2.2s? My car has been in storage for a couple of years and I have just got it back on the road and have a sneaky suspicion that the tacho might have been grafted during that tim...
