Who would you recommend to re-build a 2.2s engine?

In case it helps, Mike at MB Engineering is building a 2.2S motor at the moment for me. Here is another done last year, again a 2.2S.

Hi my engine was built at mikes a 2.2E, I couldnt recommend hin enough. Mike can also do the detail work. Here are a couple of pics of my engine.

And even after thousands of miles the underside still is oil free

Hi,

This is my first post on the forum, or indeed any forum! So I guess you could call me a forum virgin - until now!

I bought a badly rebuilt 2.7RS engine just over 4 years ago for my 911T lightweight and Neil Bainbridge of BS Motorsport has worked on it and kept it from total destruction since then! It will be going to him for a full rebuild this coming autumn and I can highly recommend him. Like his brother there seems to nothing that he doesn't know about early 911 engines, and nothing that is too much trouble for him.

Thanks for all the advice. Having done alots of research and talked to many of the recommendations, I've decided to take it to Mike Bainbridge. He sounds great and has a very re-assuring presence.

So we're off to the Lake District for the weekend. I'm looking forward to the Fish & Chips on the beach at Arnside.

Will update with progress as and when. Have to confess am a little nervous...but excited about a new lease of life for the old girl.

Any mag case will benefit from shuffle pinning now. These cases are all over 36 years old and many of them have already distorted. Any case that is stripped all the way down should be line honed, shuffle pinned and the barrel decks machined to ensure a straight, stiff case.

just out of interest - and sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but what kind of money are you looking at for a full engine re-build..? - I appreciate its a bit of a how long is a piece of string question, but there must be some sort of ball park... the engine I would be interested in having re-built is a 2.2 T
