Re: '73 911 Steering Column Bush

No, the spring is there but no stützring/collet. I'll order one tomorrow along with a few other bits I need to finish the car off.

Re: '73 911 Steering Column Bush

Yes I think you're right. Mine is missing from the steering wheel. Thanks for the quick reply.

'73 911 Steering Column Play - Fixed

A quick one as I think I know the answer but wanted to ask DDK for confirmation. My steering wheel/column has some movement up/down (see YouTube link below). I've removed the steering wheel and found there is no plastic bush in there. I assume I need to fit the metal Steering Column Bush available f...

Factory 911 Manuals

I've been offered a set of 8 factory manuals. They are very lightly used (almost as new) and in their original, dark red binders as issued by Porsche 25 years ago. The first two manuals Vol1 & Vol2 cover the 911 from 1965-1971, the next four volumes cover the 911 from 1972-1981 and the last two ...

Re: Nearside front indicator light assemply

Hi, sorry it's for the 73 911. Nearside front as subject title. Mine has deteriorated. It's corroded and needs to be replaced really. I'm looking for a good solid assembly without corrosion or holes.

Nearside front indicator light assemply

I'm looking for the alloy metal assembly that holds the bulbs. My indicator lens is fine. Has anyone got one? Thanks.

Re: Removing front bumper

The two bolts at each side inside the boot have elongated holes so allow the bumper to be adjusted up or down to ensure it's level and lines up with the bodywork. Fitting the new seal was a pretty easy job. I'll post pics when I get the car out again.

Re: Removing front bumper

Thanks Nick. So I assume two bolts either side of the boot near the batteries, and a bracket each side inside the bumper corner and it should come off.

Removing front bumper

Just a quick one... How many fastenings hold the front bumper to the body on a '73 911. Is it just the two brackets inside the bumper corners or are there any bolts at the front/centre of the car? I can't quite work it out from the PET. I have a new front seal to fit (body to bumper and across the f...

Identify the thing

Looking into far right side of the engine bay of my '73 911 behind the engine and on the bulkhead I have a round domed cover. It looks a bit like an old school fire alarm bell. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Re: 911T progress so far

Thanks Cortina, I leave it with one battery then and save a bit of weight.

Yes, my car has MFI so you could be onto something. I'll have to get under the car again and see if there's a hose that the heat exchanger should be connected to.
