HELLO

Post by 356california »

hi Everyone,

I have previously been registered to the speedsters site, and everyone informs me that this site is far more active!!??

My love of the classic porsche started 3 years ago when i went searching eBay for a new 'toy'. After a lot of searching i found a candy red 356 'legend; California. I dont think ive ever wanted anything so much in my life. It was sold very quickly! i then found it again on eBay two years later, offered the owner the right price and went and drove it back! I still have a peep under its cover or out the window just to make sure its actually mine!!

It needs a little tidying up in places but its looks more than make up for any imperfection a closer look may bring up. Im still looking for a reliable and enthusiastic mechanic/teacher in the west midlands/Staffordshire area.

My main focus for 2011 would be to rectify a few niggly points on the 356 and attend as many shows and gatherings as possible. If any classic porsche owners or enthusiasts want to make a regular meet in the area then get in touch.

All the best to you all!!

Steve

Welcome to DDK :)

Your car sound interesting; post up a few pictures :)

I'm only a few miles North, and there are a few other DDK'ers around that way.

Hi Steve and welcome.

You have to have your pictures hosted by a site like Photobucket...

Google Photobucket and create yourself an account, it`s free. You can then upload pictures from your computer to Photobucket and then onto the forum.

See here..

http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3864.

It all seems like a lot of faffing about to begin with but quickly becomes second nature.

Regards, Mike.

Not sure where this car used to live.
It was built by a company called legend based in worcester who i have heard closed owing money to a lot of people. At the time they had the only moulds to make the 'California" shape.
I have spoken to the guy who help build it and he says it was featured in TOTALVW MAGAZINE. Although i have searched everywhere for old copies and cant find it.

I will try and find the speedsters clinic. Thanks

If anyone else recognizes the car please get in touch!

If it was featured, I'm pretty sure it was the one that lived near Scorton, just east of the A1 near Catterick. It was photographed next to a local windsurfing / diving lake . Unfortunately I gave all my TVW mags a way years ago.

I am so glad to hear this!!!!! I will keep searching. It apparantly featured in about 2002. If anyone hears or sees anything regarding old VW magazines i will certainly reward them for the right copy!!

Thanks
