Red Alternator Light always on when engine is running
OK folks,
My '68 911T is ill.
Now I'm thinking the alternator or the voltage regulator could be dead.
Is there anything else I should check before I start to take the fan to pieces ? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Check your fuses, this may give you a clue, but alternator diode pack could well have taken a big hit. Were there big sparks ?
If your ignition switch was on, then the CDI (if it has one) box could have gone. Does it still whistle, ?
The radio could be fuse protected, check this.
There is probably little else really, unless you've got modern accesories plugged in, and these are very often reverse polarity protected.
Good luck
Tim
