Gear Knob for 1973 911T

Post by Highfield »

Not sure what an original looks like for this year, so if you have one for sale, please send a picture and price.

Thanks,

I have one somewhere from a 73 914 which I think is the same... someone please correct me if I'm wrong :)

I've seen them go for £60-70 on ebay

I'll try & post a pic once I've found where I put it

Ben :)

No, they're not the same.

914's had 5-speed gearboxes with a 'dog leg' gearshift pattern - '73 911's used the later 915 gearbox with a 'conventional' shift pattern.

This is the 901 knob (914 & early 911):

& this is the later ('72-on 911) 915 knob:

aaah, thanks Andy...I thought they also ran a 901 box. I don't know much at all about 911s to be honest :)

Hi,

The early 915 knobs also had a clear top with the sliver embossed shift pattern.

I have a correct early 915 shift knob for sale. It is not a reproduction and is in fair/good condition. Sorry about the poor picture, I will take another today while I think of a price.
