Flew down to Newport and me Simon (guy selling 914) took it for a test drive. A few niggles but agreed on a price. On the way out of Newport stopped to fill car up with petrol. Car wouldnt start, would turn over but not start. Suspected crap from bottom of tank or petrol sludge caught in injectors, Mr AA guy called, car started.
An hour or so later on M6 in bad traffic, just after ordering some parts from Rodger Bray, Car dies in outside lane. Traffic chaos. Finally managed to manouver car through traffic to lay by. Mr AA called again, Highway maintenance flatbed pick up to local services and then pick up by AA flatbed there. There were a further 5 flat bed pick ups as I moved North in some kind of bizarre recovery van relay race. Got home at about 2.40 am.
