Just managed to pop off my moulds for R spec lower wings. No more hunting for early and hugely expensive early lamp units for me.
And since "modded is best" I'll put the side lights into the headlamps just like I used to on my bugs. Still trying to ident a suitable and available indicator unit though?
If I was clever enough to post pic's I would but learning to do that at my age would only take yet more time from the car project.
I promise to finish it one day.

Cortina. ( I had a nice MK1 with a pinto in it once),
dont know how much it weighs yet but it has:
GRP front and Rear valances, GRP single skin bonnet and engine cover, R GRP rear lights, My own weight saving front lower wings in an R stylee. Plastic windows with no mechanisms all around except the screen. No underseal ( might change that though). Minimal trim, Tiny fuel tank( in production). No dash top, no clock, no glovebox, no unneccesary switches or accessories, no radio, no heater, no badges, no wide arches,
Single recaro, harnesses and all the safety kit scrutineers need to see. I don't think the MOT will like the lack of mechanical handbrake (I went hydraulic in the interests of simplicity and saving bits at the back)
In fact if its not associated with legality or scrutineering stopping or going I've done away with it. All I have to do now is remember how it all goes back together.
Fraser, thanks for the link I'll try to sort out following it but I'm better at spannering than button pushing, or so my wife says!!!

Oh go on ... weigh it for me (us) please (quick trip to your local weigh bridge)
I'm interested in the list of left out / substituted bits ... but those are the relatively easy ones ... it's when you do away with the "silencer tubes" in behind the inner sills and things like that .... then I'll know you are really serious !!
How 's your bonnet and boot attached ?... does the bonnet change shape much at high speed ? .... I could think of dozens of questions !
cheers.
