Bosch distributor points insulator thing

Post by Gary71 »

Not even sure what it’s called, but I know it’s fallen apart Image

Two of the little legs have fallen off so it moves and had grounded the points, hence my car wouldn’t start.

Google is bringing me nothing suitable.

Any ideas? Anyone happen to have a box of spares!

I think it is just a one piece connector, which you can test with a continuity meter. If so to get you on the road, just join the two wires up with a an inline fuse, or a piece of metal strip, and tape/heat shrink together. Put a grommet in line to stop the wire going too far into the distributor where it joins the points?

Thanks, think I’ve found it now. If you buy a Bosch condenser it comes with one and you just need to cut the extra wire off
