It's alive!
Oil lines finished and got some oil in. Got an oil pressure test kit from amazon as I wanted to get a better idea of oil pressure before trying to start. Wasp starter really cranks the engine and was consistently showing 20psi.
Fuel pump switched on and after sorting a minor issue all looked good on that front. Finally connected the new CDI and gave it a try. Felt like it was really trying but ignition was out. Slight timing tweek and fired up. Only ran it a couple of times(due to neighbour considerations) for about 10 seconds, but sounded great and really revved freely. Sounded like all cylinders and even in the correct order.

Thanks all, feels like I'm getting there.
Trip to Porsche West Byfleet, they're only 10 mins away and seem to reliably get parts in quickly and are cheaper then one of the main online suppliers of for genuine parts . I'm also trying to offset the parts cost by collecting my snack tax on the way out.

Brakes went together really well, new everything . Calipers Front A(84-89) and Calipers Rear M(69-83), fitted with Seboro disks and Texter pads from Type 911.

Just had a couple of days finishing the brakes and fitting the drive shafts, really glad to have done the handbrake before torquing the CV bolts.

So started it up, and drove out of the garage and gave it a wash.

I had been told that Fuch 6 x15's were out of stock and could be months but rose passion showed stock a couple of days ago.(Just checked and they are now out of stock again), but this arrived yesterday.

Been a bit busy trying to buy a house but looks like that’s just about sorted , now have a 2 week window to try and get an MOT on the car.
So, ran it for 20 mins yesterday on the drive. Idea was to try and get the temp up so to get some flow through the front oil cooler, seemed to stabilise just below 50 deg, then read that I needed 100 dec for the thermostat to divert so gave up on that.
While it was running adjusted the timing and seems to rev really freely now and start without hesitation. Think its running rich, mainly due do the fact that fuel that exploded in the exhaust when I turned it off but doesn’t seem to burn any oil.
Bit of drama driving out of the garage this morning, lost the clutch in dramatic fashion, had a look underneath clutch cable nut had come off. Took me a while to figure this one out but the threads on the cable are M7, I’d used an M8 lock nut which was enough to hold for approx. 12 clutch depressions before it realised it was an M7 threat not M8. Well, it was a great test for the brakes. Looked all over for an M7, really quite rare. Amazon order went in .

I now have some seats to get me on the road, £200 and less then 10 mins away. Fallen in love with Facebook Marketplace again, especially since I sold my cookie cutters for £240 on there this morning.

I had the same issue with the 7mm on my 914 clutch - they harmonically vibrate off without a lock nut!

In the end I used 2 lock nuts just to make sure!
Been busy with other things but bit of a milestone today.
