Storage Queries

I've never long time stored, but have used an exterior quality Carcoon twice and had real corrosion on exposed surfaces like brake discs etc.
Still in long term storage in my shed...never again for winter car storage, but might be useful in the end for summer outside.

Thanks all for your advise, I have informed the storage facility not to start the car.

Its in an industrial estate, and the unit has dehumidifiers in there so should be no condensation. I went to one storage company and they didnt use dehumidifiers, but as Angus mentioned the concrete is so think (ex MOD site) they said they didnt need it. They must be doing something right as the first 3 cars I saw were Ferrari F40's !

Can I ask how long does an engine have to be left before all the oil film drains into the slump and you are getting some wear on startup? I know some oil/additive companies make some wild claims but 1, 24 hours, 1 week?

Could, after my Engine has been sitting for a bit, it reluctance to start until the fuel gets to the carbs be good for it because the Engine is lubricated before starting?

Neil,
probably exactly the same when you do an oil change - pull off the HT lead to the coil, and turn the engine over until the oil pressure light goes out.

bearing in mind when the oil is hot/warm it is going to drain back to the sump fairly quickly
