So pleased you are showing this stage.
Having just done the budget approach to body and paint, the flaws are showing on fitting up of the parts on my humble bitza 911.

Those hours are racking up but the result will be so good and the final assembly much quicker as a result of these craft men's skills.

Once the body was ready for its final coats of primer, the hours of pre-preparation were obviously and completely worthwhile.... the final results simply spoke for themselves


















but this only got better.....

engine frames were sprayed with the final colour of choice





as to was the engine bay bulkhead, all the underside (after stone chip) and the inside of the tub










but the best was still to come....she is stunning....Steve has done a sublime piece of work......in base coat plus lacquer



















it is the original Jaguar paint codes for Gunmetal, which as this final picture shows is actually a lovely warm tone, the previous shots in the spray booth suggest a colder more modern tint, which is is not







this final painting took place both sides of Christmas, allowing January to be set aside for flatting and polishing.....I needed to wait until end of January for her to return home.....


but ....despite many months having passed I am still no closer to a decision for which colour for the leather...?

He's quite good with the final sculpting, that Steve, isn't he? Looks fantastic Jonathan. As expected, but that does not lessen the achievement.
Love the colour.

Interior... hmmmm... with that relatively modern shade on the outside, I would say:
Not red (too obvious)
Not grey or black (too boring, too modern car)
I like the second from left. Does it have a hint of green, like Porsche stone grey?
I'd go orange! For what it's worth, which is nothing, obvs.

Is it home now? Must take up a fair amount of garage real estate?

Simply stunning. I love the colour. What a superb decision Jonathan.

My vote is for the moss green on the left too. You will no doubt get as many opinions as there are posters but you have made all the right choices up to now so I’m sure whatever you pick will be a gorgeous result.

Interior-wise..... that darker green is very tempting, very. Good consistency across the various materials?
Or be rather bold and go orange.....

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful colour.

My interior choice would be for the obvious red. Always been my favourite classic colour combination.

But you know me, I'll probably change my mind next week
