Your car just looks kooler and kooler.
I'd be really interested to hear how much it ends up costing you including the purchase of the car etc, PM me if you don't mind spilling the beans.

Now then, this is really beginning to take shape isn't it, it's looking very cool indeed, also sounds like you've got a proper crew on board who appear to making a sterling job of it, I bet you're chomping at the bit.

Happy new year everyone!

Simon who's been working on the car was off until yesterday, so I didn't go down until today. He's got the headlights in now:-

And then they were putting in the rear screen:-

I mentioned I'd heard this is a pig of a job and they agreed.

I also mentioned to one of the mechanics there that I'd lke the suspension to be lowered followng the rise in ride height when the bumpers were removed. He said it would be a good idea to drive it around for a few weeks first to let it all settle, as it's been jacked up for so long. Seems to make sense.

He also wanted to know how the heated windscreen should be wired in - what circuit (same as heated rear?), ampage etc. If any of you know I'd be grateful but I'm going to do a separate posting anyway.

Should have some more progress next week

Things are moving quickly now....

Went down after lunch and they'd fitted the rear screen. To quote Simon, "it was a Tw4t to get in" - took the two of them 3 goes and the metal surrounds kept bending out of shape.

Anyway, they got it in, and the sunroof as well:-

Simon said they'd be putting in the windscreen this afternoon so I popped down last thing and sure enough:-

They've also primered the bonnet, engine cover, and front & rear bumpers ready for spraying.

Should hopefully keep seeing progress this week - I'll be down every day

Cheers

I appreciate this may be a bit like a spot the difference competition but to help the less observant amongst you the change is they've installed the rear side windows.

They were also rubbing down the bonnet and bumpers today and will be spraying them silver tomorrow (will be having a black stripe on the bumpers)

I haven't dared to plan anything on the basis that if you'd told me in September that it wouldn't be ready by Christmas I would have laughed. These final bits do seem to move a bit faster though so I'm hoping to have it back next week.

Unfortunately I can't do the 19th but I will definately want to be taking it to some ddk events this year

Ahaa - sorry - missed that one!

As long as I'm not on holiday (& will try and avoid it) I'll be there.
