Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner
Hi all
Silly question possibly but here goes... I understand that to fine tune ride height with the later spring plates (I'm about to upgrade) the 36mm spanner required for the eccentric adjuster cannot be a standard spanner, but needs to be a "thin" spanner to fit between chassis and spring plate.
Is that correct, if so is there a specific Porsche tool (and number for this) or alternatively where have folk sourced such a thing?
Many thanks

Re: Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner
I got a spanner off eBay, it is for a Land Rover fan belt/ water pump I think. It's thin and flat, and slips in between the arm and the bodywork
Anyway search for a 36 mm spanner into eBay and you should find something

+1 , same fan spanner for me off ebay, £20 I think.
Needs to be quite a tough spanner as the eccentric can be under quite a load when turned unless all the tension is off the torsion bar.
Mine is about 5mm thick, the gap on the car is not much wider.

Re: Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner
Excellent advice all. My friendly local bike shop has the appropriate Park Tools 32/36mm wrench on order and will call me to collect when received. I do love a simple/convenient solution!
I look forward to tweaking my ride height without taking my car into a garage, wasting time, being frustrated that they've not done the height correctly as requested, wasting more time etc. etc.!
Cheers

Re: Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner
It isn't an easy task I assure you!
BUT easier than a single piece arm by far.
However, really good once you have DIY'd the car and aligned everything else.
I spent a very full day doing mine on the flat area of the garage floor.
Maybe you have access to a ramp?
Doddle if you have.
