Sorry i slightly misread your comment - the "proper" 2.7 with a proper engine - my point is that both the Euro and US cars are totally identical i.e. "proper" and share the same lightweight chassis, brakes, suspension, interior, transmission - only the engine differs and even then the crankcases, crank are identical with the main differences being pistons, cylinders, heads and induction system. So the US car is possibly a proper car without a proper engine?

I've had one of these [stolen last year] -OK not an RS engine - but as Robin says everything else the same!
Still a great deal comapred with an RS- and going up fast.
My insurance company [eventually] paid out last year twice the amount I paid for it in 2010 and that was well short of what I really needed to replace it.
Robin- shouldn't you by the pool with a beer instead of on here? You are still in France aren't you? 8)

Latest ad from the US for a very tidy looking US spec car - must say terrific colour combination and the car is seriously mint by the looks of it. While the price is an asking one its well up on previous asking prices. Asking £118k stg

'Buy it Now' price reduced by $20,000 since you posted last Thursday.

Talking of '74 cars, a sub 10k miles '74 2.7S is up at auction next month:

Steve

1 x '67S, 3 x 2.4S all RHD

A privilege & pleasure to have owned them all.

From what you are saying, the bits that are missing are the bits that make the euro Carrera special, aren't they? The main thing being MFI. A US Carrera probably has more in common with a C3 doesn't it? CIS, transmission, interior, chassis?
