Is that High level light in behind the ventilation grill? I've been thinking of doing that, although it's quite tight for space. What LED strip did you use?

Hi Jon,

LED strip does sit behind vent grill. I had removed the original drip tray earlier in the build, same as on the 911 R.

I made up a new tray with some folded Aluminium to carry the LED strip, and then mounted it to the bolts that I had welded in place to hold the rear window straps. The cable routes down the channel in C-pillar, and comes out through the parcel shelf in the engine bay.

LED strip is approx 35cm long.

Today I made the 800 KM round trip to Classic Boxers.....thank goodness for big Audi's and Autobahns

Setup is underway.

This sticker can now be removed...




Alignment, Camber, Balancing, Shock absorbers etc have been done, though holes in adjustable swing arms needed to be tweaked in order in get correct adjustment at the rear.

Ignition has been adjusted, though the carbs are coming off this morning as there is suspected dirt in the jets. First test run hopefully tomorrow...






It was weighed.......The project started as a 'Lightweight street legal race car' ( or something like that ). To be honest I would have been happy with anything under 1000kg. 950kg ? That would amazing. 900kg ? Yeah, whatever....

Well, its light


...and thats with the normal passenger seat fitted, glass rear screen, 1/4 full petrol tank and 9 litres of oil....even with me behind the wheel, it will still be light

Seem to remember telling you, years ago,that you'd be down under 900kg!

With anything equating to a power to weight ratio in excess of 200bhp per tonne you're going to have your hands full on the road. Enjoy!
