Hi Jon,

LED strip does sit behind vent grill. I had removed the original drip tray earlier in the build, same as on the 911 R.

I made up a new tray with some folded Aluminium to carry the LED strip, and then mounted it to the bolts that I had welded in place to hold the rear window straps. The cable routes down the channel in C-pillar, and comes out through the parcel shelf in the engine bay.

LED strip is approx 35cm long.

Chris
Thanks Chris, think I will attempt something like that whilst I still have a bare shell.

Your car looks fantastic, don't suppose you will be driving it to Essen in a few weeks?

Cheers

Chris - car looks absolutely spot on - congrats. I really hope you can bring it to Spa - it will be 4 years since we first discussed it and you were telling me about how you had 'roller-painted' the car - I thought you were a bit nuts :-)

Come on - let's blat our cars round Spa one more time before we shoot off to other parts of the globe

Like so many great design projects, it's all in the detail... and this beauty looks like so much more than the sum of it's parts.

Supercool work Chris. 8)

Setup is underway.

This sticker can now be removed...

Alignment, Camber, Balancing, Shock absorbers etc have been done, though holes in adjustable swing arms needed to be tweaked in order in get correct adjustment at the rear.

Ignition has been adjusted, though the carbs are coming off this morning as there is suspected dirt in the jets. First test run hopefully tomorrow...

It was weighed.......The project started as a 'Lightweight street legal race car' ( or something like that ). To be honest I would have been happy with anything under 1000kg. 950kg ? That would amazing. 900kg ? Yeah, whatever....

Well, its light

...and thats with the normal passenger seat fitted, glass rear screen, 1/4 full petrol tank and 9 litres of oil....even with me behind the wheel, it will still be light :)

Seem to remember telling you, years ago, that you'd be down under 900kg!

With anything equating to a power to weight ratio in excess of 200bhp per tonne you're going to have your hands full on the road. Enjoy!

Wow that is light. Well done. I can vouch for the hands full and fun parts of the equation.

Great news Chris !

Any indication of the F:R weight ratio ?
