Scratch, scratch, scratch...horrible job, did it several times on my hot Impreza years ago.

wetting makes a big difference, but still a sod.
will smell rotton when wet and drying off...

Great work as always Chris, this project is great inspiration.

However, I'm confused by the suggestion of a strut brace needing to resist torsional loads, as this would suggest the brace mounts can rotate relative to each other around the axis of the brace itself. The only way I can see this occurring is if the shock towers could rotate forwards and backwards, pivoting from somewhere low down, and the inner wings resist this.
What am I missing...?

Wet ? It was sodden :)

I used 50mm wide tape, so the wetter it was the better to get it to form around the curves. The pain was working out the best pattern to wrap, but the other header looks like it should be bait easier.

I had Latex gloves on, but my hands are still abit itchy this morning....however the real problem was working in a cold garage ( even with heater on ) and snowing outside :(

Thanks mate

I have laid my cards on the table when it comes to the Physics side of things, I have learn't to take a back seat and just listen

It is my guess that under heavy side ways load, mid-corner, the Towers would not move relative to each other...I think the force would be relative to the wheel ( at a right angle ), and this offset would create a rotational load....

As I say I THINK, so don't hold me to that explanation

Chris, just grin & nod when someone tries the explain that one in the pub car park.

Unless you are running coilovers and/or very large sticky slicks, the strut brace is 95% just for the "looks".
