Kev has passed - really passed!

Well Kev is now IVA'd - almost....!

They couldnt test the speedo and said it was faulty - same as first test....

Apparantly the donuts were testing the REAR wheels which I personally thinks reflects the cocks that run IVA tests....

Anyone who knows anything about beets knows the speedo is front wheel driven.

Well they can't test the front end so they have asked for the garage to verify it works at set speeds, and send the calibration receipts in for the final documentation.

Soooo finally Kev is almost there...I daren't ask for the final bill but am waiting surgery to have my kidney removed...

Now for the registration. I'm away next week for a week so hope to get it back road legal mid August.

Gary - its heading your way mate! i'll PM you...

Thats good news Paul, nearly there then.

The test centre that mine went to also couldnt test the calibration so it also had to go to one of their other depo's. Didn't have to pay either.

Keep pressing on with it, you may catch the end of the summer....

yeah can't wait for the interior and roof to complete it.

Feel like I've been shafted by an elephant from the garage thats doing the work tbh. They have done a couple of good jobs but overall the price to finish the few bits has been quite ridiculous.

Get the car back. Speak to trading standards. If you are being 'shafted' they will take a keen interest.

Good news on it being road legal though - I'm not far behind you. :(

I dont believe this....the garage have just invoiced me £2500 (thats with a 50% discount as they have charged over 3 times the original estimate), to get it re tested!!! And a fair few of the issues were caused by themselves!

So far the original estimate to complete this work of 59 hours @ £2100 has lept to £6100 (thats with a £2k discount) and 172.5 hrs effort!!!!

They were supposed to be getting it registered for me but I have just emailed them asking for clarification on what the make up of 172 hours is and that I'll collect/register it myself.

Where do these firms get off?!?!

2 other firms estimated a good week worth of effort at around 40 hours.

fumes continue...

What the f**k, Paul you must stop using your Bugatti to visit these places... l know l should have charged you more for the seats

Hate to say it but you should have done it yourself, even if it took a few months longer. You proberly would have done a better job to... and stand back and "say l built that".

Defo question the 172 hours, what was the apprentice doing, sleeping in the car at night aswell. l would have thought the 356 would have been a doddle to them. So have you got the thumbs up on the IVA (pass) or not??. Defo register the car yourself, its a piece of cake. Or you could pay me say £2k to register it for you.

Anyway keep at it mate, its all part of the journey regardless of the costs. Maybe Gary is following your progress and will feel sorry and do you a real good deal with the interia, ehh Gary

lol thanks for the encouragement Rich....I think :?

I am awaiting the heated screen so want to try to keep things sweet with them as they have the contact - unless anyone on here can still source heated screens for the speedster?

I'll no doubt have to redo a few bits. I don't think using these guys has been value for money or worthwhile to any degree. They have done a couple of bits that I couldn't do but overall I am a bit miffed to say the least - I felt I'd hit a wall so they got me over that but at a price I wasn't looking to pay.

And its only a Fezza, not a Veyron!!!

Hope to rack up to a show coming soon - any on in the next few weeks worth going to??

Has anyone got Garys number btw? I pm'd him recently as I lost it. Not heard back tho - assume he's busy or on hols.

Chesil sell the heated screens, maybe worth a phone call to compare prices??

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
