At long last we can now announce all the DDK CLM 2010 packages 8)

We have already announced the camping package & now we can announce details of the in-field Porsche Parking & Track Laps :)

1st tickets will have their web page updated ( hopefully within the next 24hrs) to allow all packages to be booked on line.

TRACKLAP PACKAGES
Due to the way Classic LeMans is organized, we have had a LOT of trouble trying to secure tracklaps for DDK ..... for other marques like the Cobra Club it was very straight forward, but when it came to Porsches on track it was insisted we HAD to organise it in association with Porsche Club France. Annoyingly this meant we could not negotaite any preferential deals & it means that in order to buy the tracklaps we have to buy the entrance tickets through them too :( ( THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE WANTING TRACKLAPS ... CAMPING PACKAGES ARE NOT EFFECTED)

Due to this restriction, Brian ( 1st -tickets) has done the best he can & negotiated thus that we are classed as an 'Official Porsche Club' so get a slightly better price on the tracklaps etc.

To summarize, here is how I see it :

DDK Camping incl entance & paddock , book via 1-st tickets :)

If you want to camp with DDK & do Tracklaps, the only way to ensure both is to book via 1st-tickets :)

If you just want Tracklaps & general entrance & you are a member of PCGB, then it will be very slightly cheaper to book direct with Porsche Club France

If you just want Tracklaps & general entrance & are not a member of PCGB, then it is cheaper to book via DDK / 1st -tickets.

To be honest, I think Brian has done a superb job of keeping the prices competitive & to ensure we can book all from one central place under the DDK banner. I'm pleased with the deals ( as I know the hassle that happens behind the scenes when organising these things) ..... but I also know some of you will want more info ....

so as we all like transparency, I have discussed all this with Brian & I asked him to put together the following to help explain how the costing etc are worked out . ( I copied & pasted teh below from a pdf ... the tables didn't copy though)

Le Mans Classic Parade Laps and Infield Parking

Dear DDK Porsche Member

Following launching the Club camping package in March, 2010 we now have received the booking information and package options from Porsche Club France for the Le Mans Classic.

We are delighted to announce that infield parking and parade laps are now available (see table below for prices). We will shortly update our website to enable online booking of these features. Alternatively you can contact us on 01767 680119 to place your order and finalise your booking.

The Infield parking is available as part of the Week-end Access pack that includes general entry, paddock access and grandstand. Unfortunately Parade laps can only be added to the Week-end Access pack as an option and cannot be purchased separately. However, if you have booked to camp at the club area, we have identified a way of still being able to arrange the track laps for you.

Although DDK Porsche is not a recognised “Official” club, we have negotiated the official club rate for a block booking via 1st tickets. We have also aimed to keep our overhead costs as low as possible to keep the prices as competitive for you as possible.

Ticket only Infield parking packages ( NO CAMPING) - Price Per Person

Infield Parking with Porsche Week-end Access
(includes General Entry, Paddock, Grandstand + one spot in the Porsche Clubs parking)

Driver Only £79pp
Two Per Car £79pp
Three per Car £79pp
Four per Car £79pp

Parade lap as additional option £128 per car
Special Delivery (signed for and insured) £7.50 per booking

Ticket only Camping packages @ KN Price Per Person

Club Camping at Karting Nord
(including general entry and paddock & special delivery)

Driver Only £147pp
Two Per Car £107pp
Three per Car £98pp
Four per Car £90pp

Grandstand £17 per person

Parade lap as additional option
(includes one spot in the Porsche Club parking & grandstand ) £142 per car

Special Delivery (signed for and insured) Included in camping package

To be eligible for parade lap and infield parking you must provide us with the following information to send to Porsche Club France:

• Porsche Model
• Type
• Year
• A picture of your Porsche (3/4 front) with readable licence plate.
• Licence Plate number

Please note: The picture is mandatory to grant access to the Porsche Clubs parking. It will be used to organise the Porsche Clubs parking which will be exclusively reserved for Porsche cars, excluding Cayenne and Panamera.

We recognise that our prices are slightly higher than booking direct with Porsche Club France, but like any business we have certain overheads and costs associated with any event package over and above the face value of the tickets. The table below describes the major factors we must include when calculating our prices:

Merchant Service and banking charges
For every banking and online transaction there is a fee we pay to the service provider

Bonded tour operator insurance premium
As a member of the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT), an Association approved by the Department of Trade and Industry, we have provided a Bond to meet the requirements of the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992. These regulations apply to packages sold in the UK and this Bond provides security for money paid over by its UK customers and for their repatriation to the UK in the event of our insolvency.

Euro exchange rate fluctuation.
As our prices and payments by you are in GB Pounds, we have to factor in potential fluctuations in the exchange rate. However, to protect you against further increases we look to fix a rate with our foreign exchange providers

Business overheads
Overheads and general expense incurred as part of running a business

We trust this clarifies our pricing structure and look forward to receiving you booking shortly.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely

James - thanks for that, for clarity and to be sure I've read it correctly - if we have paid a deposit, 1st tickets will contact us to pay the balance and add laps?

maybe ?? not quite sure

if you have already booked your camping ..... it might be better to contact 1-st tickets to add the track laps then at least you know it's done.

Brian will be contacting all to ask for final payments.

The 1st-tickets web site should be all updated & active today.

It appears you can't have DDK camping and just infield parking.

- Parking is only available with entry ticket.
- Camping is only available with entry ticket.

So to get both you'd end up with too many entry tickets.

I'll speak with them, as hopefully they can do camping on it's own.

CLM Virgin questions

Am camping at KN so need to pay £147

If I want to sit in a grandstand then it ie an extra £17

If I want to have a parade lap then it is £142 but this includes infield parking and grandstand.

So questions are:

Do I need infield parking - or can you leave the car at the campsite and walk or are the 'happening' places miles away?

How many parade laps do you get?

Infield parking ...... IMHO no need unless either you want tracklaps ( in this case you can't have one without the other ) , or you want the experience of being parked in a regimented parking area full of 500 + Porsches :)

The campsite is only a 5 min walk to the track centre, which then means you can enjoy the Champagne bars ;)

Tracklaps ..... generally you get 2 laps. If you want to book these please phone Brian @ 1st-tickets & he'll sort out the appropriate package for the least cost :)

You will need to drive to Arnage corner , Mulsanne etc etc ............ unless you come on my now defunct (in)famous walking expedition  .

Jus spoke to Brian and paid my balance. He mentioned the grandstand is now T34 above the pits, not T16 as per the original booking :)

Thanks again to James for sorting this trip out for us :)
