Hi Nick The DWV911L was a lightweight the other car was run on I.O.man
plates for awhile there must be some pictures somewhere It was
not around long as an in the early 80,s it all got silly with group B cars 4x4
a set of tyres per stage and big sponsorship it all got too expensive for
amateurs .

no the the sporty bits went on the i.o.man car DWV reg,log book ,damaged shell and bits ,were all sold together.the cars identities the log book and shells were kept separate .It used to happen alot in those days swapping bits I knew one chap who had two Imps the same colour one rally prepared and one as a road car same numbers all matching. His view was he could only drive one car at a time so one lot of number plates, tax and insurance. This was not the case with these two porsches they were kept separate just some of the bits swapped. To me a7r crankcase is a 7r crankcase whether its in a 911E or RS why shoulld it be worth so much more if it has history .

As with so many things RS, an answer to a lot of questions could be found near Banbury
Bert
Marque specialists Autofarm purchased it in crashed form in 1982, restoring it for the fourth owner

I've just bought a 3 film DVD on Ebay that's based on Gerry Marshall and DTV / Castrol, and as part of a film called "Winning ain't Easy" shows the 1975 Manx Rally, mainly because of two DTV Firenza'a driven by Will Sparrow and Pentii Airikkala. There's lots of shots of this RS in there too, running high up in the order, but no details of driver and navigator.
