Believe car has landed at Maxted,Prill etc for total resto..........................someone who saw the car similar time to me ,last night over a curry described it as a shed ! Thats was after all where it was living !

Hope u get it up there , never seen it in the raw.....................given up completely with nice noises ,retained gorgeous looking bananas but screwed couple of standard boxes on mine .....................Goodwood 103 on Friday , drive by less than 95 , for some reason wud nt tel me what though!
Happier abt rides , than last time ,if u get bored ...................last year spent most of the day trying to stop fuel filler neck from leaking!
I heard that this RS had sold for £220,000 and did not bother to look at h&h web site until Friday ,very shocked to find it was DWV911L a car that we competed in rallies from 1976 to when it was sold in 1982 It did not look like that when I knew it ,to describe it as a shed is unfair to sheds it was more like a tent.I am not surprised to find a few bits missing most of them would have been scraped off on the scenery when we were rallying.If anyone is interested I know what happened to the car from1976 to 1982 I was there and have photos .p.m me.
just read ur post Mr Mogga , sitting at home all flued up feeling sorry for myself ..........if i cud laugh without so much pain i wud ..................one of the reasons we walked away before , while being prepared to spend , one wanted a bit of an idea what lay underneath............it was bad on top where u cud see.............. now we can be sure of trhe rest............will pass all on to my Mate who escaped
BTW dont believe theres evr been any attempt to keep the history secret , the owner told us with pride the Rally histpry he had , mentioned it had a whack of two even the colours changing and then back !
At a guess bought when not a huge amount of money and opportunity to do exactly what hes done !
Thers nothing illegal abt that ....................just the old buyer beware !
These high prices are all very well but ,I want to use my cars if they become too valuable we will not see them out just in museums like Bugattis This happened in the 80,s with some cars and when the prices dropped again alot of people lost a lot of money.Lets face it there is only a very small difference between a genuine RS and a good well built copy.The only items not available are the thinner glass and steel in the shell and I think you can get the glass now. A good copy is as good performance wise as a real one, what ever that may be ,so why do people pay these ridiculous prices?
