Hello from the Porsche Homeland

Post by Foes914 »

Hi,
I'm new on the board and just want to say hello to the club. I think I'm a real Porsche nut with a 914-6, a 356 Pre A (in restoration process now, drive as a rat car for 1 year) and a 911 RS recreation based on a MY 87 (not quite finished yet).
Have a good time and thank you -
Alex

HI Alex,

Welcome to the forum. Great collection. On your RS rep have you got a G50 gearbox?

If so I'm afraid I think you'll have trouble when you want to remove the rear torsion bars - because it's wider than the 915 there's not enough room to take our the torsion bar cover plates. I only know because I've done a very similar thing (backdated an 87 car), done the same thing to my bodywork, and this Christmas I had to cut a chunk off to let me change the rear torsion bar stuff (details of what I did were here http://www.impactbumpers.com/forum/inde ... topic=8799 - there aren't picture of the cut bodywork there though). If this is a surprise then sorry to be the bearer of bad news; if you've got a 915 box then you don't have a problem.

Once again - fantastic collection and welcome to the forum

Cheers

Mark

Thanks for the kind words and compliments :) .
@Tom
yes a nice colour - If I would have a choice (but you don't have if you want a real 6) I prefer the conda green. I have the car now since 12 years.

@Mark
yes I have the G50 gearbox. Thanks for that info - I will keep it in mind! I don't have installed yet engine and gearbox yet. I'm still working on interiour (seats), fenders, rear quarter windows etc.
I think I'm ready the next weeks (or months :| ).
Thanks again - Alex
