Help required re : seats

Post by Roadrunner »

Has anyone attempted restoration of Porsche 911 seat frames/ bases/rails etc.? What is the best method for rubbing back years of rust / grime etc. and then what black finish is recommended ?

Thanks in advance for any help ?

Hi Tim - are you talking about that Recaro sport seat you bought on ebay?

I would get the frame shotblasted & powder-coated black.

The reclining mechanism on the side of the seat was painted black - I think it was 'wrinkle' finish.

This is one of the pictures swbsam posted on the Early 911S Registry recently:

also their colour silver is pretty good and the man in charge is very helpful and will tell you that you can add things if you are not up to the minimum,,,,,,,,,,,which i thought was really cool. 8)
