http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i384/paulf58/0b5ba65a4f3ab5991e930f3e30db9e56.jpg I really like this watch, I assume its not a standard Heuer, saved the photo but know nothing more. Do any of you guys do custom watches or where do you get the bits. Maybe a winter project when it's too cold in t...

Good luck Margaret, I'll be watching your times from afar, if you get below 35's I'll be insisting that you wear gloves!
Have a great time and hope the sun shines, hopefully back next year.

Re: Check your fan belt!
Great Check List Mike, car is running great, thanks again for your help. Since rebuilding carbs and fitting your diffusers I think the top end performance is better, creamy smooth delivery. Idle is smooth but can not get idle speed as low as I would like without running to lean and the accompanying ...

Re: Check your fan belt!
Using Valvoline VR 1 20w50 Mineral Oil, valve clearances ok and oil topped up, good compressions and balanced cylinder leakage. Temp Guage is fine all day at 70mph, press on 90mph plus on hot continental roads or M8 and the guage creeps up. Engine tray seal is not perfect and on the to do list. I th...

Re: Check your fan belt!
Hi Alan PC Glasgow and Edinburgh supporting the Bo'ness Revival again, Bill Drysdale and his team do a fantastic job on putting this event on every year. There will be a great liveried Martini 991 Course Car. I unfortunatly am not going to be there, am at a clashing event, the tenth Crofterra Pandem...

Re: Check your fan belt!
Thats very interesting, I am going to check my belt as it is the notched type and not 825. I found the v belt factory 825 would not adjust and did the same as you and copied what was on it when I bought it. My 912 runs in the middle of the guage until you push on the motorway. I was the same going t...

Hi Mitso
Interested, can you give any other info, or photos. I'm thinking it is the bolt on system that sits at the back of the engine?
Cheers

Re: 912 Solex 40 P11 Carb Defuser
Hi Mike Thanks Mike your a star, yes was running K&N and was going to stick with them, your thoughts? My fire was caused I think by plug lead coming off, causing push rod to dislodge, big back fire, hot engine, fumes detonated by loose lead, I think. K&N also caught fire. Lucky I had an exti...

912 Solex 40 P11 Carb Defuser
Following my engine fire At Classic Le Mans this year I feared the worse as the engine had no grunt under load. Some weeks coming to terms with the likely expensive engine rebuild I thought I better get stuck in and have a look. Cylinder leakage good and no horrible noises, so pleased. What I have d...
