Yes, I did – bought it off the original owner/builder after it had sat unused for 10 years. Was voted 'America's Most Beautiful Volkswagen' in 1976.

Always wanted one back then but couldn't get rid of my rusty Triumph Spitfire...

Bought the Y Type Ford instead and went the street rod way which I certainly do not regret.
The 70's really were great.
