I've just shown the picture to a mate of mine from Leicester and he thinks it's a car from just around the corner from him
in enderby.. He thinks it's got a 2.2 engine, and gets drag raced.. The same guy has a black 914..
Anyone from here?!..

Lovely looking early big window bug.
Looks like it has a stock peashooter exhaust. Might be a tad restrictive for a 2.2

Most of my cars I wish I could've kept, but at least they made way for something as good as. My 1500 was sold in the end to make way for a Karmann Ghia, not so bad!

Mine was actually a 69, but I fitted it out with earlier panels. Was only a 3 owner car and all local to Derby

my 2nd favorite VW ever ... a crotch cooler split 8) My 1st favorite is a sunroof crotch cooler split 8)

I started off with my 1st ever car being a 71 beetle, which I immediately slammed. This was the car I had when I started going out with my now wife :) . Then came a 70 beetle which we scrapped, then a 72 beetle for my sister. Following these I saved up & bought my dream, a 62 canterbury pitt split camper ... fantastic vehicle but ended up not using it much. Swapped this for my 1966 Ex German Police Cabrio which was the car I ended up using to create my black monster & ultimately went onto win a fair few awards with it's current owner 8) I also had a small rear light / twin filament ( Oval era rear lights ) one year only 1961 small window beetle that I loved ... I was going to use this for Historic Rallying but I couldn't find anyone willing to be a navigator :( .... this was eventually turned into a hot street / strip car by the next owner. That is one car I wished I had kept :?

My crotch cooler Split is currently surrounded by a big pile of SC parts. I live in hope that one day it'll see the road.
Fuchs just look so right under those wings, but the earlier banana over-riders look odd to me.
