This is my second LWB and my second car bought through the DDK community — the first being a 2.2 Albert Blue RHD E.

There are a few older threads on the current car from Graham (previous custodian), so rather than rehashing the history of the car up again I thought I’d just start a fresh one and document my time with it.
I bought it in 2023. Graham had put a lot into the car — engine upgrade (with help of Nick Fulljames), suspension tweaks, and various other bits — but interestingly hadn’t actually done many miles in it over his 4–5 years of ownership.
For me it ticked the right boxes: something I wouldn’t be too precious about, decent performance (circa 200bhp), and (to my eye at least!) plenty of curb appeal.

Once I got over the slightly wonky “Porsche” script on the deck lid and what I’ll politely call an average paint job, I took it over to JAZ for a post-PPI.

Unsurprisingly there was the usual list of little jobs to sort (when isn’t there…), including a fresh set of Pirelli CN36s all round plus one for the spare.
The aim from day one was simple — get it into good shape and actually use it properly. European trips, Wales runs, maybe the odd track day… all the things I’d planned with my last car but never quite managed.
Since then it’s mostly stayed as-is. Routine maintenance, looked after by JAZ, and one main change — swapping the big 420mm wheel for a 370mm Springall lightweight Momo-style one, which feels much better suited to the car.

There have been a few “moments”…
A sticking horn button kept East London well entertained for a while before eventually killing the horns completely.
Also had a memorable early breakdown at the entrance to the Blackwall Tunnel — equal parts exciting and slightly terrifying!
Now about three years in and it’s been an absolute blast.
Other than the usual local weekend drives, so far it’s done:
Two Pyrenees trips

A couple of Wales runs

A Goodwood track day (brilliant — would definitely do again)

And a Spain trip planned later this year

Plans going forward are pretty minimal. Might swap the driver’s seat for something a bit more period/sporty (bucket seat maybe), and headlights could definitely do with an upgrade so I can actually see at night…
Other than that, the plan is just to keep using it and enjoying it — it does exactly what I wanted it to.
Hopefully catch a few of you and your cars at this year’s DDK meet.
Will get some photos up from future trips when I get a chance.
Cheers
