I had read various posts over the pond on how people approach the task of welding on the flares. I decided to opt for the method of screwing the flare to the original panel. Starting at the top i then sliced a 6" section and tack welded . Repeat down both sides of the flare until you reach the end of a six foot section of welding. A little dolly work and i am very happy with the result.

Car can finally come off of the jig and back on to the spinner to tidy up the underside. Thanks to Garry and his lads for the muscle help. This brings me up to date and i promise i won't post anymore metal pictures . Looking forward to putting down the welder and passing this on to the painter very shortly.
Also manage to rivet the front edge of the aluminium door skins. The devils in the detail.
Rivets sourced by fellow DDK'r Kirk. Many thanks.

On a seperate note, momentum on my build received a shot in the arm after the recent DDK visit to the Techno classic in Essen. I had the great pleasure in being asked to make the Repa race harnesses for the Toad Hall ST that was on display and was recently restored by Porsche. Many thanks Marco. Enjoy the car, i look forward to seeing it in action at Classic Le Mans.
