Not so many on the road driving shots.. my co-pilot was having camera stability issues apparently.

All in all Feroz Yoda's Day Off was more than a day off. And as we parted company the small green wise one imparted this brief advice...

"Always pass on what you have learned."

So this is what I re-learned and most DDKers already know...

Our 40 year old cars are unbelievably capable & rewarding
You don't have to go across Europe for an epic road trip with spectacular roads
Road speed doesn't need to be mental to have fun on the right roads in the right car
Trips are better with good mates and this is what our cars are all about, driving.

Thanks Yoda!

schnellman , how did you get on with your new car ?
On the Welsh roads my car was fantastic. I hadn't realised how stiff the suspension was until I swapped with Yoda! Around town (especially London) it is perhaps too stiff but on fast roads it is close to perfection. I had swapped the period wheel for a 350 mm Momo just before the trip (I was finding the original wheel was hitting my thigh). Worked very well. Cornering was such fun: so confidence inspiring I was managing to stick to Yoda's ducktail (when we swapped he disappeared!)

Engine very strong. Great for blasting out of corners.

To be honest I didn't miss a LSD (although I would still add one when I have the gearbox rebuilt - which I am leaving for the moment as it doesn't need it).

Only problem is that after sampling the roads in Wales it was a bit depressing to return to the poorly surfaced and arrow straight roads in Cambridge!

Wonder if I can persuade the family to move to Wales......

Doesn't say much about the specialist PPI does it?
I found the 350mm Momo too small... so swapped to 380mm
Gearbox - heed the specialist!
Pleased you're enjoying it

Excellent road trip :) I recognise many bits of that. Can you post up a google maps overall route if you have time. Good to keep a record of these things.
