i have my porsche and karmann ghia with T R Youngs, although Stuart has now left there, you could speak to Oliver Redpath.

i also use Peter Best (01621 840 010). Might be worth giving them a try.

Helen, did you tell T R Youngs to try and find you a policy that caters for exactly what you want? Oliver was really helpful last time around.

Yes. Kelly has been really helpful and got me a great deal on the Apal. BUT for the 911s after a whole day searching & several phone calls to me wasn't able to find a policy that didn't require me fitting an alarm/imobiliser.

Called around suggested companies today for my car.

Darren at Haggarty was indeed good. Knowlegable and he`s off to Le Mans Classic in a race prepared Spitfire. :) I presume he meant the car, not the plane

But it was Carol Nash who did it for me, every thing Haggarty offered, plus comprehensive break down cover, homestart, Euro cover etc. and for £5 less

£280 for the year sir. That`s £80 less than last year with Fluxy.

I'm going to be looking at insuring the RSR in the next week.

Does anybody know if anyone is better at understanding and insuring reps than anyone else?

I insured my 911s Targa with them. Really easy. They insured the car on the chassis number until I sorted out number plates.
The only stipulation was that the car had to be kept in a garage at night time if you were at your home adress.

I've called them a few times since taking out the policy and they have always been corteous and very accomodating.

PS no alarm or immobiliser fitted
Helen,
I am just going through the same process for my T and found Hagerty to be a full £100 cheaper than the other 5 that I called including European cover.
Can't beleive it.. just phoned Hagerty, spoke to Darren who knows his cars and sorted out a policy for me in under 10 mins.
garaged, 5k miles per year,No alarm/immobiliser needed. and its £100 cheaper than the nearest other quotes (with alarms) i've had.

i will definatly be moving my other cars over to them when their policys are due.
I've just rang my existing insurer - neither use nor ornament.

Rang Hagerty - got a premium for an RSR replica, not yet registered, fully comp, agreed value, £250 excess in about 10 mins.

Premium was so cheap not bothering to ring anyone else!

Fantastic 8)

the paperwork came through very fast too and the photos can be sent to them via e-mail. 8)
the request for one of the photos to be of the garage was a first for me, but i can understand it.

Just spoken to them again to put in force.

I'm actually a bit gob smacked at how phenomenal their service was and how polite and courteous they were. its probably the best service I've evr had.

Bootsy their prices are fantastic and as said their service unbelievable - I've asked them to send me contact details in case you are interested in speaking with them as the person I spoke to had not heard of DDK - got to be worth a chat! I gave them the web address for here too.

Getting excited....just need to find someone dropping out of Classic LM now!
