Adding Insult to injury

Not content with pulling the plug on LMP1 and going into the god awful formula e, apparently Porsche are considering re-entering the F1 charade as an engine supplier. I know, following the money, trying to win the hearts and minds of non-believers blah, blah. Sorry, just needed to get that off my ch...

Re: So .. Sales of new petrol and diesel powered cars banned

There is lots of potential in hydrogen, and probably other options as well - its a long time to 2040. The announcement was politically motivated but may have had little to do with pollution. (Certainly the min of transport knew nothing of it nor the SMMT ). The combustion engine continues to get cle...

Re: So .. Sales of new petrol and diesel powered cars banned

I personally think that the manufacturers would do well to market the EVs as fun and not from an eco perspective. Currently IMO Leaf's, Zoe's and I3 (and TBH most modern cars) are soul-less and boring to drive. Someone needs to do what VW did with the Golf GTi and re-invent the hot hatch with a bal...

Re: So .. Sales of new petrol and diesel powered cars banned

An awful lot can happen on 20 years! The current (pardon the pun) headlong rush to batteries may prove to be an interim solution - except that the vast infrastructure costs involved will make any alternative politically unpalatable. Certainly interesting times ahead! More depressing is the report to...

Re: Picture hosting on this site

Nope,
presumably the same as you, a message saying "update your account to enable 3rd party hosting". Don't know whether existing photo bucket users can.

I think the message is aimed at the account holder, if you don't pay, any pictures you share are replaced with the message.

Re: Who do you follow?

Fascinating, but mostly pointless, if they don't post on DDK why would I 'follow' them?
Now if they do that might require a judgement call. :drunken:

Re: Boxster question please

Graham,
If you decide to fit mesh guards zundsport offer a significant discount to PCGB, but the fit outside the existing grills. If your taking the bumper off yourself a much smarter and cheaper result can be obtained with stainless mesh and tin snips!

Another 'what's it worth' question

I notice on the "Automobilia Auktion Ladenburg' site that a supplement for the 964 RS users manual was sold for over €700!
Now that was a German version, I've recently found tucked away with some old RS stuff an Italian one.
Is that rarer and more valuable or common and worth less :?

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

I'm hoping that with the extensive knowledge on here somebody might know where I can get a new or good s/h pusher for my Omega Chronostop. Nothing currently on that well known online auction site.

LHD 'E' at Hexagon

Well, Well, I see VNP 841L has surfaced for sale at Hexagon. Price is some £30k+ up, its well presented but the description contains a few bits of fiction, most notably the mileage - maybe they just missed the original 1 from the front! Anyway anybody considering this fine piece of kit - feel free t...
