Mission Impossible - eject my seat!

DDK'ers : if you can solve this one then you're better than Ethan Hawk in my book!

My passenger seat is stuck, and there's no way I can see of getting it out. Basically it will move forward or back about 1.5 inches but no more. Not enough to expose the mounting bolts at either the front or rear.

Tracing the sound of what is stopping it moving, I reckon one of the allen headed bolts at the back of the runner nearest the centre of the car has come loose and is now fouling on part of the seat - stopping the seat moving any more than an inch or so.

How the hell do I fix this? Has anyone come across the problem before?

I can't get to the bottom of the bolts in that area because they disappear into the side of the centre tunnel (unlike the ones on the outer runner). I'm stumped.

Try 'jiggling' the seat backwards & forwards to try & get the bolt to drop down a little.

Alternatively, try using some stiff wire (coat hanger ?) to get at the loose bolt to straighten it up.

I had exactly the same problem, and let me tell you it was a pain in the arse.

The problem I had was it would move forward but not back far enough. It sounded like it was fouling on the front of the seat but it was caused by one of the allen bolts at the back that holds the runner to the bottom of the seat ( I initially thought it was a bolt or something dropped in the runner). I was lucky, I could just managed to touch it. I cut down an allen key so it would just fit in the bolt and in the gap and screwed it in about a 16th of a turn at a time, each time it took about a min to fit it back in the bolt. It took about three hours but I got the bast@#d out

Try lifting the seat as you move it back and forth

Oh yeah......I did lots of that, I found I managed to get it over the front stops on the runners, that's how I got to the bolts under the back of the seat.

I've already been pretty violent with it

So I think its now time for the bits of stiff wire and lots of patience but its going to be tough as I can't get anywhere near the bolts as they seem to have jammed in the worst possible place.

Cheers for the advice tho chaps. I should have known it would have happened to at least one of you!
